7 Dog Breeds With Brown Noses
Labrador Retriever
Brown labrador retrievers are just the perfect companion for any family. Chocolate labs especially are a gorgeous brown color – and they are finished off with an adorable matching brown nose!
Not only are these labradors loyal and great fun, they also make wonderful service and working dogs. They are a medium breed that weighs between 50 and 80 pounds when fully grown.
They are affectionate, playful and loyal, and can be well-socialized from a young age. They make great family pets, but do need interaction and attention each day!
Poodles
Poodles are absolutely gorgeous dogs, and poodles with brown coats have brown noses as well! Their distinctive curly fur is soft and beautiful, and they don’t shed as much as you would expect.
Still, when caring for a poodle, you must be prepared for extensive grooming needs to keep their coat healthy and in good condition.
Poodles come in either standard or miniatures sizes, and are intelligent, active, and loving dogs that take well to training. They do need to be trained from a young age to avoid aggression.
English Springer Spaniel
The English Springer Spaniel breed is truly a beautiful breed. These dogs have brown markings on their face and back, with beautiful brown ears, brown eyes and a brown nose. The rest of their body is white.
English Springer Spaniels usually weigh up to 50 pounds, and grow up to 20 inches tall. They are popular gun dogs, but make great pets for an active family as well.
They are friendly and loving, and very intelligent, but can be quite curious when outdoors, so you do need a strong recall training to keep them out of trouble. As they are high-energy, they need exercise each and every day.
Dachshund
Dachshunds are one of the most loved breeds around, and for good reason. They are so adorable!
These small German dogs have long back legs, and short little front legs. However, their body shape can lead to health problems, including slipped disks in their back.
So you’ll want to take good care of them, give them regular check-ups and be prepared to get them special equipment to help their backs and hind legs when they age.
Still, most dachshunds have petite brown noses that are just as cute as can be! They are intelligent, loyal dogs, but they can have a strong prey drive. They should be socialized from a young age.
Puli
A Puli is a Hungarian breed of dog that has a very unique coat, and might be a breed that you have never heard of before! With gorgeous corded fur either in brown or cream, a Puli has a perfect brown nose!
Adults can weigh up to 30 pounds and grow to around 17-inches tall. These loyal dogs are watchful and intelligent, but they are quite high-need and do need to be exercised daily.
Grooming is essential, as they can easily overheat from their thick corded fur.
Only look into this unique brown-nosed dog if you are prepared for intensive grooming routines, however!
Chesapeake Bay Retriever
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers can have brown noses as well. They have a wavy coat that is usually chocolate brown, but there are other shades that can also be found.
These dogs can also be protective and stubborn, which is only a positive if they are raised well. They are attentive dogs that are highly intelligent, but they do need a ton of attention!
They need a lot of active time each day. It is not ideal to keep them indoors, or if you do not have a large living space or garden for them to exercise in.
Lagotto Romagnolo
Have you ever heard of this dog breed? It is a breed from Italy, and they have the most gorgeous brown noses! These dogs are often used to sniff out truffles.
Growing up to 19 inches tall, and weighing in up to 35 pounds, Lagotto Romagnolos are a medium-sized dog. Their coat is double thick and has a wooly texture.
Like their nose, their coat can be solid brown, but it can also be brown and white, with some other colors too.
They are an affectionate and intelligent breed, and are quite active. They need socializing and training from a young age to control these traits, which will make them positive traits! Lagotto Romagnolos are wonderfully unique dogs and really are stunning.
